About the Family

A warm, thoughtful, and family-oriented household in Tribeca is seeking a loving, engaging, and professional nanny to care for their 16-month-old son and, beginning in early January, their new baby. Their toddler’s personality is beginning to shine through more and more; he is active, curious, and loves exploring, walking, and being on the go. He also enjoys books, music class once a week, and outings to Cocoon. He does well with a consistent routine and naps for approximately two hours each day, while also being adaptable when plans need to shift.

The family values a warm, collaborative, and relationship-centered approach to childcare. Their philosophy is to meet their son where he is, follow his lead within reason, and provide thoughtful guidance rather than relying on hard or rigid boundaries. They are looking for a nanny who will build a trusting relationship with their son and the entire family, engage with him throughout the day rather than simply supervise, and create enriching experiences that support his development and growing independence.

About the Role
This role blends attentive, hands-on childcare with thoughtful, child-focused household support. The ideal nanny will be warm, nurturing, loving, and physically active, with a genuine enthusiasm for getting down on the floor to play, reading books, exploring the city, attending activities, and creating enriching experiences for the children. The nanny will be encouraged to follow the toddler’s interests, engage with his emerging personality, and support his development through play, conversation, movement, and age-appropriate experiences. As the family welcomes their second child, the nanny will also provide attentive infant care and help foster a calm, connected environment for both children.

The family is looking for a go-getter with a growth mindset who is proactive, collaborative, and confident communicating with parents. Additional responsibilities include preparing meals and snacks for the children, children’s laundry, bottle cleaning and sanitation, light home tidying and organization, seasonal clothing inventory, taking out the garbage, and keeping track of household inventory. Mom works very part time from home, while Dad has a hybrid schedule between home, an office, and frequent work travel, so the ability to communicate effectively and work comfortably within a shared caregiving environment is important. Occasional date night and weekend support is appreciated, but the family also has babysitters in their rotation. Domestic and international travel is a strong preference, primarily domestic, with occasional trips to the family’s home in Nashville or summer home in New Jersey. Flexibility to spend a few days traveling with the family on occasion (mainly in the summer to New Jersey), with advance notice, is preferred; a private bedroom and bathroom will be provided in both homes.

Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree preferred

  • Prior professional nanny experience, including infant and toddler care

  • Strong understanding of infant and early childhood development

  • Warm, nurturing, and highly engaging caregiving approach

  • Ability to build trusting, long-term relationships with children and families

  • Comfortable following a child-led approach while providing thoughtful guidance and structure

  • Physically active and enthusiastic about play, outings, and enrichment

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Growth mindset and proactive, go-getter attitude

  • Excellent references from previous families

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Pets: No pets
Transportation: Nanny will commute using public transportation; no on-the-job driving required. Parking is not available.
Travel: Strong preference for domestic and international travel, primarily domestic. Occasional travel to Nashville and New Jersey may be requested with advance notice.
