About the Family
A warm and welcoming family in Newton Corner, Massachusetts is seeking a compassionate, reliable, nurturing, and experienced nanny to care for their three children. Their outgoing and social 6-year-old daughter is creative, energetic, and a natural rule follower who is very excited about welcoming a nanny into the family. Their imaginative and opinionated 4-year-old daughter is easy-going and enjoys independent play. Their 6-month-old son is an easy-going, even-keeled baby who loves being around people and will be bottle-fed by the start date. Both parents work professionally—dad works from an office five days per week, while mom works from an office three days per week and from a separate home office two days per week. The family is looking for someone who brings positive energy to the home, communicates openly and consistently, and is comfortable both giving and receiving feedback. They value a nanny who can establish loving but firm boundaries while creating a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for the children. The family has one dog with minimal pet care needs and no household dietary restrictions or allergies.
About the Role
The nanny will provide attentive, developmentally focused care for the children, with the primary focus on their 6-month-old son. The nanny will drop the two older girls off at school, located approximately one mile from home, at 7:30am; both girls attend after care until 5:00pm. Responsibilities for the baby will include bottle feeding, facilitating naps, planning developmentally appropriate activities, and getting out into the community for enriching experiences such as playground visits, library trips, and classes. Additional duties include children’s laundry, kitchen tidying, meal preparation for the children, and occasional light meal preparation for the parents, such as preparing chicken in the slow cooker or chopping vegetables.
The family is seeking someone who is compassionate, highly reliable, communicative, and proactive about keeping Mom and Dad updated throughout the day. The ideal nanny will bring positive energy to the household, be open to giving and receiving feedback, and have the confidence to establish loving but firm boundaries. Experience caring for children across multiple age ranges is important. The schedule offers some flexibility to stay later on occasion with advance notice. Support for occasional date nights is preferred but not required; the family typically enjoys a date night approximately every six weeks and has babysitters in their rotation. The role does not entail travel.
