About the Family & Role

A welcoming family in McLean, VA, is seeking an honest, flexible, and proactive nanny/family assistant to support their 3-year-old daughter and assist with household management. The family is looking for someone who is reliable, consistent, diligent, and detail-oriented, with a positive attitude and the ability to take initiative. The ideal candidate will be active, comfortable setting boundaries, and able to provide a balance of nurturing childcare and hands-on household support.

The 3-year-old girl is sweet, energetic, active, independent, and strong-willed. She enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and participating in activities. She is currently working on potty training and still occasionally naps after school.

She typically wakes between 6:30 and 7:00 AM and leaves for school around 8:45 AM, with drop-off between 8:50 and 9:00 AM. School pickup is around 11:50 AM–12:00 PM. Her weekly activities include ballet on Thursdays at 3:30 PM and Saturdays at 9:30 AM, as well as soccer on Sundays at 4:00 PM. The family may eventually resume gymnastics at MyGym. Afternoons often include playdates, trips to the park, and other engaging activities.

Mom is a stay-at-home parent, while Dad works in the office most days and occasionally has a hybrid schedule. The family is looking for someone who can work collaboratively with Mom while independently managing the afternoon routine and taking initiative throughout the day.

The family has one friendly 8-year-old Yorkie. The role will also include occasional travel to New York and approximately one international trip per year. The family is looking for someone who is comfortable with travel and occasional flexibility for evening and weekend support.
