Description: A thoughtful, progressive family in Brooklyn is seeking a warm, emotionally intelligent nanny to care for their curious and creative 8-year-old twin daughters. About the Family:
The twins are loving, unique individuals with big imaginations. One is artistic and introspective, with a passion for gymnastics, crafts, and baking. The other is extroverted and endlessly curious--an avid reader who thrives when intellectually challenged. They attended school nearby and enjoy a balance of extracurriculars and downtime.
The family emphasizes empathy, respect, and emotional safety. They follow a mindful approach to screen time--limiting use in daily routines while making thoughtful exceptions for special occasions or education purposes. One child has a tree nut allergy, requiring care and awareness in all food handling and outings, and she follows a vegetarian diet. There are no pets. Both parents work hybrid schedules and are typically home on Mondays and Fridays.
Schedule & Responsibilities:
The schedule is Monday - Friday 1:30pm - 7:30pm, with guarantied 30 hours/week and flexibility to add more hours if needed. Additional hours may be available during school breaks or occasional evening/weekend coverage. Travel opportunities with the family may arise (e.g., Cape Cod, Berkshires), though travel is not required.
Key Responsibilities include:
School pickup and safe city navigation
Planning engaging, creative activities indoors and out
Supporting homework and enrichment activities
Preparing nutritious lunches and dinners for the children
Cleaning up after meals/snacks and assistance with family meal prep and dishes
Children's laundry and light home organizing
Running occasional errands and grocery shopping
Partnering with parents on routines, communication, and household flow

Your'e also attentive to city safety and confident navigating busy streets and public spaces with children. You take initiative, communicate clearly, and feel at home in a thoughtful, inclusive household.
Qualifications:
3+ years of professional nanny experience, ideally with school-aged children
Strong safety awareness, especially in urban settings
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Valid driver's license Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Fully invested in the children's growth and family dynamics
Values diversity and progressive thinking
Compensation & Benefits:
$35 - $40/hr, based on experience
3 weeks paid vacation at the families discretion (typically around school areas and holidays)
5 paid sick days
