Description:
A warm, down-to-earth family in Lincoln Park, Chicago is seeking a loving and experienced nanny to care for their sweet baby girl, who will be approximately 3 months old when care begins in January. Their daughter is a happy, easygoing infant who loves being outdoors, going on walks, and staying in motion—whether in the stroller, car seat, or baby carrier. She is exclusively bottle-fed, and her parents are looking for a calm, patient caregiver who enjoys engaging with infants and supporting early development in a nurturing, unhurried way.
Both parents work outside of the home, and they hope to find a nanny who will become a trusted, steady presence for their daughter during the day. The ideal candidate will bring a positive, “glass-half-full” attitude, be even-tempered and proactive, and take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and peaceful environment.
Household Dynamic:
The family lives in a Lincoln Park home with two large, gentle dogs (a Great Dane and a Great Pyrenees). No active pet care is required beyond a friendly attitude and comfort with large breeds. The family follows a vegetarian lifestyle and plans for their daughter to do the same once she begins solids; however, the nanny is welcome to bring and enjoy their own meals at work, including meat. Parking is available for nannies who drive, and the family prefers candidates who can commute independently by car. Occasional travel may be appreciated but is not essential.
Ideal Candidate:
The family seeks a nanny who is:
Warm, loving, and calm under pressure
Naturally upbeat with a “can-do,” glass-half-full mindset
Confident and experienced with infants and early development
Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail
Proactive with communication and partnership with parents
Comfortable around large dogs and tidy in shared household spaces
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide loving, attentive care for one infant
Support developmental milestones and introduce age-appropriate routines
Prepare and sterilize bottles; manage feeding and nap schedules
Handle light home tidying, organization, and baby laundry
Load/unload the dishwasher and manage baby’s clothing and household inventory
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging daily environment
Occasional assistance for evening or weekend coverage (optional)
Qualifications:
Prior experience with infants and long-term nanny roles
Up-to-date infant CPR and first aid certification
Reliable transportation to Lincoln Park
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Benefits:
$30–$35/hour (guaranteed 40–45 hours/week)
Two weeks of paid vacation (nanny chooses one week)
Five paid sick days
Paid major federal holidays
Open to healthcare stipend for the right candidate
