A warm and welcoming family in Evanston, IL is seeking a dependable, proactive, and collaborative full-time nanny to care for their two children. The older child attends a Montessori school a block away Monday–Friday, while the younger child is home during the day. This role is ideal for a self-starter who loves planning activities, keeping a household running smoothly, and partnering with parents to create a nurturing environment. Weekend or date-night help is appreciated but not a strong requirement.

Household Overview:

The 5-year-old loves reading, arts and crafts, listening to audiobooks, and is very sweet and loving. The 2-year-old is curious, energetic, and enjoys arts and crafts as well. The older child attends a Montessori school a block away, so drop-off/pick-up is quick and easy. The youngest has an egg allergy but no other dietary restrictions. Both parents work outside of the home, though mom works occasional overnights and may be home some days. The family has no pets.

Occasional domestic and international travel is appreciated but not required. The family prefers the nanny use her own car to get to work, but a car can be provided when driving the children if needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

Childcare (Primary Focus):

  • Provide loving, developmentally supportive care for two children (with primary focus on the 2-year-old during the day)

  • Manage school drop-off/pick-up for the older child (school is a block away)

  • Plan creative, age-appropriate activities and outings

  • Maintain routines and support positive behavior

Household Support (Light Duties):

  • Prepare healthy meals/snacks for the children

  • Manage children’s laundry and clothing inventory

  • Keep household inventory and plan seasonally for children’s needs

  • Return packages, run occasional errands, and meet contractors as needed

  • Help with light home tidying and organization

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal nanny is warm, friendly, and passionate about working with children. They are dependable, proactive, and able to think a step ahead to anticipate the family’s needs. Strong organizational skills and a collaborative spirit will make you a great fit for this role.

Bonus Skills:

  • Comfortable managing food allergies

  • Open to occasional domestic or international travel

  • Familiarity with Montessori or child-led learning philosophies

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional nanny experience with toddlers and preschoolers

  • Legal work authorization in the U.S.

  • Strong communication and time management skills

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable car (car can be provided for driving children if needed)
