About the Family
A warm and welcoming family in Allston is seeking a dedicated and highly organized household manager to support the smooth day-to-day operations of their home. They have a 2.5-year-old son who attends daycare Monday through Friday from 9:00am–5:00pm. He has a calm temperament, adapts well to new people, and forms strong bonds quickly.
Both parents work from home, with Dad traveling approximately 50% of the time. The family values honesty, efficiency, and a proactive approach, and they are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys supporting a busy household.
There are no pets in the home. The child has allergies to milk, eggs, and nuts, so comfort and attentiveness around food allergies is essential (the family is happy to provide training on EpiPen use if needed).
About the Role
This is a household manager–focused position centered on maintaining an organized, efficient, and well-run home. Responsibilities include kitchen tidying, family laundry, general home organization, and maintaining overall household cleanliness and order.
The role also includes meal preparation for the family, such as cutting fruits and vegetables, assembling salads for lunch, and preparing simple soups and a rotating menu of 4–5 easy dinner recipes. Additional duties include grocery shopping, meal planning, managing household inventory, running errands, and taking out the garbage.
While the primary focus is household management, occasional support related to the child may be needed, such as daycare pickup (a family car will be provided for this when necessary). The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, is detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, family-oriented environment.
Requirements:
Prior professional household management or similar experience
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Comfort managing food allergies with care and attention
Valid driver’s license
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Excellent references from previous employers
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Pets: None
Transportation: Driveway parking available; family car provided for any child-related driving responsibilities.
Travel: Not required, though openness is a plus (no current plans)
