About the Family
A warm, active family in Chevy Chase, Washington, DC is seeking a professional Nanny/Family Assistant to join their household in a long-term role. The family currently has two children, a 6-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl, with a new baby due at the end of December. They are looking for someone patient, loving, kind, flexible, and confident caring for three young children while helping their busy household run smoothly.

The two older children attend school Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00am–4:00pm. Once the baby arrives, the majority of the nanny's daytime childcare responsibilities will be focused on the newborn, with support for the older children before and after school. Mom works a hybrid schedule and will initially be on maternity leave, while Dad works fully from home when he is not traveling. The family hopes to find someone comfortable working alongside parents in the home and who can naturally collaborate while maintaining independence and initiative throughout the day.

The family values flexibility and is looking for someone who is not easily flappable and can comfortably navigate the changing needs that come with three young children. They would love a nanny who enjoys getting children outside, staying active, and creating engaging days while providing a calm, dependable presence in the home.

About the Role
This is a Nanny/Family Assistant position that will evolve as the family's needs change with the arrival of their third child. Initially, the nanny will help support the older children and assist with household management responsibilities. Once the baby arrives, the role will become increasingly newborn-focused during school hours while continuing to support all three children and the household as a whole.

During Mom's maternity leave, the nanny will work collaboratively with her to care for the baby and help keep the household organized and running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be comfortable stepping in wherever needed, whether that means caring for the newborn, helping with the older children's routines, preparing meals, completing an errand, or assisting with household organization.

Household responsibilities will include kitchen tidying, children's laundry, light home tidying and organization, children's meal preparation, grocery shopping and meal planning, household errands, maintaining household inventory, bottle cleaning and sanitation, and light pet care. The family has one Goldendoodle and would love to find someone who genuinely enjoys being around dogs.

The nanny does not need to provide their own vehicle for on-the-job driving, though having a car would be helpful for commuting. The family also travels both domestically and internationally and would be happy to have their nanny join them when possible. Travel is optional for the right fit, though having a valid passport is preferred.

Above all, the family is looking for someone who is loving, patient, flexible, and confident managing the needs of three young children. The ideal candidate will be proactive without being rigid, able to remain calm when plans change, and comfortable balancing childcare with family assistant responsibilities. They hope to find someone who is genuinely interested in becoming a trusted, long-term part of their household as their children grow.
