About the Family
A warm and active family in Boston’s South End neighborhood is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive nanny to support their three young children during the afternoon and evening hours. The family has three children: a 2-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, and a 6-month-old girl. The boys are very energetic and active and enjoy spending time outside, playing sports, exploring, reading, and participating in children’s activities around Boston.
Both parents work outside of the home. The family currently employs another full-time nanny who picks the boys up from school and cares for all three children until Mom returns home in the afternoon. The new nanny will transition into the afternoon/evening coverage and should be comfortable working collaboratively with the family’s existing nanny as part of a childcare team.
The family has no pets and no household dietary restrictions. No car is required for the position, although having a personal vehicle would be a plus for occasional travel to the family’s home in Maine. Parking is available if a car is needed to commute to the job.

About the Role
This role will focus on providing engaging and active afternoon and evening care for the family’s two boys while also supporting Mom and helping with the 6-month-old baby during dinner and nighttime routines.
The boys typically finish school around 2:00 p.m. and spend their afternoons with the family’s daytime nanny until Mom arrives home. Once the daytime nanny leaves, the new nanny will take over with the boys, getting them outside, keeping them active and entertained, and planning age-appropriate activities that align with their interests. The ideal candidate will enjoy being active with children and feel comfortable exploring Boston, playing sports, spending time outdoors, reading, and engaging in children’s activities.
The nanny will also help Mom with dinner and nighttime routines for all three children. The nanny should be comfortable transitioning between caring for the boys and assisting with the baby as needed, while helping create a smooth and organized evening routine for the entire family.
When appropriate, the nanny will assist with child-related household responsibilities, including meal preparation, bottle cleaning and sanitation, cleaning up after activities and meals, keeping the children’s spaces tidy, light home tidying and organization, and helping maintain the common areas used throughout the day. The family values someone who is proactive and naturally takes initiative to keep the home organized.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, dependable, calm, proactive, and independent. They should be confident taking initiative, keeping the boys engaged and active, and supporting the family through the afternoon and evening routine. Strong communication and collaboration skills are especially important, as the nanny will work closely with the family’s existing full-time nanny and transition coverage throughout the afternoon.
Requirements:
Prior professional nanny experience
Experience caring for toddlers and young children
