About the Family & Role
A warm, busy family in Baltimore's Poplar Hill neighborhood is seeking a professional, reliable, and nurturing nanny/family assistant to care for their two young daughters, ages 4.5 and 2.5, and welcome their third child in March 2027. Mom will be the infant's primary caregiver for the first two months after their arrival. The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, is playful and engaging, and is equally comfortable taking initiative with household responsibilities. This is an opportunity for a mature, trustworthy, and communicative caregiver who is interested in becoming a long-term, valued member of the family.
The older daughter is independent, easygoing, and a natural rule follower who is a wonderful big sister. Her younger sister has a funny, silly personality and is a bit more spirited. Both children enjoy soccer, music, and gymnastics. The older child attends full-day preschool four days a week and half-day on Fridays, while the younger child attends half-day preschool on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The family is seeking someone who is playful, patient, and genuinely enjoys getting down on the floor to engage with the children. The ideal candidate will understand how to adapt their approach to each child's individual personality while maintaining a firm, loving, and consistent presence. Experience caring for infants and toddlers is important.
Mom works a hybrid schedule and is in and out of the home throughout the day. Dad travels frequently for work, so the family values a nanny who is dependable, flexible, and comfortable working independently.
In addition to childcare, the role includes meaningful family assistant responsibilities. The family would love someone who enjoys cooking and is comfortable helping with household organization and day-to-day management. Responsibilities include children's meal preparation, family laundry, dishes, grocery organization, keeping children's spaces tidy, managing household essentials, and assisting with packages, returns, and contractors.
Professionalism, reliability, and genuine care for the children are especially important to this family. They are looking for someone who is proactive, emotionally intelligent, and able to read the room without needing direction. A strong candidate will communicate openly, use good judgment, take initiative, remain engaged and off their phone while caring for the children, and be willing to adapt to the family's changing needs.
Travel is a strong preference. The family has homes in Florida, New Orleans, and a beach house in New Jersey and would love a nanny who is comfortable traveling with them. Accommodations and a family vehicle will be provided while traveling.
