Energetic and Collaborative Nanny Needed on the Upper West Side

Compensation: $30 - $40/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00–8:30 AM and 1:30–6:30 PM
Description: A warm and thoughtful family relocating from Newton, MA to the Upper West Side is seeking an experienced, upbeat nanny to care for their engaging 3.5-year-old son. Location: Upper West Side, NYC
Child: 3.5-year-old boy
Start Date: July 1st (flexible within reason, but not earlier as they are relocating)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am -8:30am and 1:30pm to 6:30pm; ~40 hours/week during the school year; ~50 hours/week in the summer
Compensation: $30 - $40/hr, based on experience
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation (nanny chooses on week), 5 paid sick days, paid major holidays, and a monthly healthcare stipend if needed
Live-Out: This is a live-out position
Household Dynamic:
This family's son is an active, curious, and playful three year old. He is fully potty-trained and attends school from 8:30am to 2:30pm on weekdays, and the family follows a screen-free approach to his care. They are seeking a nanny who can support developmentally engaging play, provide living structure, and handle day-to-day routines with warmth and reliability. Mom works, while dad works in an office. Grandparents may visit periodically and be present in the home. The family has a friendly 65-lb Bernedoodle who is like a second child so the nanny must love dogs!

The right fit will be energetic, positive, and city-savvy, with a deep interest in child development and excellent communication skills. The family is looking for a nanny who is invested in their child's growth, is comfortable balancing independent decision-making with collaborative parenting, and is excited to become a trusted thought partner.
Primary Responsibility:
Provide engaging care before and after school
Plan enriching, screen-free activities for afternoons
Prepare meal and snacks for the child
Handle child laundry and general household tidying
Unload dishwasher, manage light errands, and assist with home organization
Be an open communicator and work in partnership with the parents
Travel with the family up to 2 time internationally and 2 times domestically per year
Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
3+ years of professional nanny experience
Strong communicator with a warm, proactive approach
Infant through preschool experience preferred
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Comfortable in urban settings and public transportation
Loves dogs
