About the Role
We’re a warm and energetic family in Wilmette seeking a full-time nanny to care for our two young children—a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old—while helping to keep our household running smoothly.
This is a dynamic, year-round role that shifts slightly with the seasons. During the summer, the role involves full-day care while the kids are out of school. Once both children return to full-time school in the fall, the focus will transition to household support in the early afternoon—including light organizing, grocery runs, and meal prep—followed by school pickup and after-school care through dinner, bath, and the evening routine.
We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of energy, reliability, and capability—someone who’s confident managing two curious, high-energy kids while juggling small tasks and anticipating what needs to be done next.
Key Responsibilities
Full-day care through the summer with outdoor play, creative activities, and structured routines
After Labor Day: school pickup, snack, playtime, dinner, and bedtime prep
Light meal prep, laundry for the children, and tidying kitchen/common areas
Help with household organization (e.g., kids’ clothes, backpacks, supplies)
Occasional grocery runs or errands
Encourage age-appropriate independence and model kind, consistent boundaries
Maintain a calm, low-screen, play-based environment
Who You Are
Unfailingly reliable and punctual, with strong communication skills
Naturally organized and proactive, able to balance care and logistics
Warm, energetic, and confident managing two active children
Comfortable thinking ahead and staying calm in changing situations
Bonus if familiar with Montessori or other child-led learning methods, but not required
Experience is valued, but we also welcome candidates with less formal background who bring initiative, sound judgment, confidence, and a genuine interest in working with young children
Other Details
Must be fully vaccinated and comfortable managing food allergies (EpiPen training can be provided)
CPR certified (toddler and child)
A nanny car is available for work-related driving; candidate must have their own transportation to/from the job
To Apply
If you’re looking for a fun, active, and long-term role where you’ll be valued as a key part of the family team—we’d love to hear from you!
