A warm, private, and kind family based in Beacon Hill is seeking a highly capable and discreet House Manager / Personal Assistant to support their household, with a primary focus on providing thoughtful companion care to the mother. This is a unique, all-in-one role ideal for a polished professional who enjoys blending household management with meaningful, relationship-driven support.
The mother is independent but benefits from structure, companionship, and assistance with day-to-day organization and planning. The right candidate will act as a trusted right-hand, bringing a calm, proactive presence while ensuring the household runs smoothly and efficiently. Both parents value discretion, professionalism, and a high level of trust.
Responsibilities:
Household Management & Personal Assistant Duties
Oversee full household operations and ensure a well-run, organized home
Manage bills and expenses using Quicken
Assist with emails, correspondence, and scheduling
Coordinate vendors, contractors, and home maintenance
Run errands and assist with day-to-day logistics
Book travel arrangements and support seasonal transitions between residences
Provide tech support and assist with general administrative needs
Kitchen tidying, light home organization, and family laundry
Grocery shopping, meal planning, and maintaining household inventory
Companion Care Duties
Provide warm, engaging companionship and emotional support
Accompany mother to appointments, outings, and activities
Assist with scheduling and planning enriching activities (walks, museums, etc.)
Support daily routines and provide gentle structure
Organize medications and supplements
Serve as a thoughtful, attentive presence, anticipating needs and offering support as appropriate
Requirements:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and punctual
Discreet, professional, and experienced working in private homes
Tech-savvy and comfortable managing systems (billing, scheduling, etc.)
Compassionate, intuitive, and emotionally intelligent
Proactive self-starter who can take initiative and “read the room”
Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support wherever needed
Prior experience with companion care or supporting elderly individuals strongly preferred
Cooking skills are a plus, but not required
Local to the Boston area and seeking a long-term role preferred
