About the Family

A warm and engaged family in Tribeca is seeking an experienced, proactive nanny/household manager to support their bright, spunky, and thoughtful 5-year-old daughter. She is a creative and expressive child who loves art, singing, dancing, and imaginative play. The family is focused on supporting her development with a balance of warmth and firm, consistent boundaries. Mom is a stay-at-home parent who is highly in her daughter’s day-to-day life, school, and development, and dad works out of the home in an office. There are currently no pets in the home, though the family may welcome a cat in the fall.

About the Role

This role is a blend of after-school childcare and household management, ideal for a candidate who enjoys being both highly engaging with children and instrumental in keeping a home running smoothly. Responsibilities include school pickups, coordinating and attending activities such as swim, gymnastics, and enrichment classes, and facilitating playdates while maintaining relationships with other caregivers. The nanny will also engage the child in creative, age-appropriate activities including art projects, reading, and imaginative play.

The household management component is a key part of this role. Responsibilities include grocery shopping and weekly meal planning, and preparing healthy meals for the child (including cutting fruits and vegetables, cooking dinners five days per week, and introducing new recipes weekly), managing seasonal clothing rotations and household inventory, and taking out the garbage. Additional duties include the child’s laundry and weekly bedding changes, light home tidying and organization, kitchen cleanup, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the child’s room and belongings.

The ideal candidate is warm, emotionally intelligent, and highly engaging, while also being confident in setting boundaries and redirecting behavior in a calm and supportive way. They should be communicative, proactive, organized, and a true self-starter. Strong cooking skills and comfort taking initiative in the kitchen are highly desired.
