About the Family

A warm, busy, and welcoming family in Brookline, MA is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and highly organized nanny/family assistant to support their two active young boys, ages 2 and 5. Their oldest son attends school Monday through Friday from 8:00am–3:00pm and is fully potty-trained, while their youngest attends school Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00am–1:00pm and is currently in the process of potty training.

The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and who can confidently balance hands-on childcare with family assistant responsibilities throughout the day. Mom works from home approximately 3.5 days per week, so the family values strong communication, professionalism, and a collaborative working relationship with their nanny.

They are hoping to find a calm, proactive, and engaged caregiver who can help create a structured yet warm environment for the children while also helping the household run smoothly. The family keeps a Kosher home, so familiarity with Kosher practices is appreciated but not required. They also have two friendly pet cats who may occasionally require light care.

About the Role

This role involves a thoughtful combination of childcare and family assistant support. Responsibilities include school pick-ups and drop-offs, planning engaging and age-appropriate activities, supporting the youngest child through potty training, preparing simple meals and snacks, and helping maintain consistent routines for both children.

In addition to childcare responsibilities, the family is seeking someone who is comfortable assisting with a variety of household tasks to support the overall flow of the home. Duties include washing and folding the family’s laundry, general pickup and organization, loading and unloading the dishwasher, grocery shopping, running miscellaneous family errands, simple meal prep for the family, taking out trash, recycling, and compost as needed, vacuuming and tidying the children’s bedrooms, dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up, and coordinating or allowing contractors into the home when needed. Light pet care and standard kitchen tidying are also part of the role.

The ideal candidate is warm, responsible, organized, adaptable, and highly self-motivated. The family would love to find someone who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and enjoys becoming an important and supportive presence in their home for years to come.
