About the Family
A warm, welcoming, and active family in Chevy Chase is seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly organized Housekeeper to support the day-to-day upkeep and overall functioning of their 8,000-square-foot home. This is a collaborative household where flexibility, teamwork, and initiative are highly valued. The family enjoys entertaining throughout the year and is seeking someone who takes pride in maintaining a beautifully run home while anticipating household needs.
The household includes a friendly Havanese-Poodle mix dog, two senior cats, and an elderly family member who resides in the home with full-time caregivers. The family also employs additional household support staff and values a candidate who enjoys working as part of a team while independently managing their responsibilities.
About the Role
This is a comprehensive, full-time housekeeping position responsible for the ongoing cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the home.
Daily responsibilities include vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen cleaning and upkeep throughout the day, dishes, bed making, decluttering, household organization, and laundry for clothing, towels, and linens. The Housekeeper will maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home while ensuring household systems run smoothly.
Additional responsibilities include grocery shopping, household errands, supply inventory and management, package returns and shipping, assisting with contractor access and oversight, light meal preparation as needed, email communication with family members, and supporting the household with any additional needs that arise.
Daily pet care is required, including feeding the family's pets, maintaining litter boxes, and walking their friendly dog. The family is seeking someone who is proactive, resourceful, and able to anticipate needs, particularly when preparing for dinner parties and family gatherings throughout the year.

Requirements
Prior professional housekeeping or household support experience
Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
Ability to work independently while collaborating with household staff
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Comfortable using email for household communication
Positive, proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
Comfortable working in a home with pets
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Excellent references from previous employers
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Transportation: Personal vehicle required for household errands and transportation to and from work
