About the Family

A warm, thoughtful, and highly engaged family in Huron Village, Cambridge is seeking a reliable, mature, and proactive nanny/household manager to support their three children and help maintain a well-run and nurturing home environment. Their oldest daughter is exceptionally responsible, loves school and reading, is an active learner, and enjoys gymnastics; she will be entering second grade this fall. Their middle son is energetic, creative, and curious, with a particular love of origami and hands-on projects; he will be starting kindergarten at the same school as his sister. Their youngest son is verbally advanced, active, and incredibly sweet, and he loves spending time outdoors at local playgrounds; he will be entering preschool this fall.

The older two children attend school full-time and are dismissed at 3:15 p.m. (2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays), while the youngest is dismissed between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. Both schools are within walking distance of the family’s home. Mom and the nanny will work as a team for pick-up and throughout the afternoon. During the summer months, camp dismissal is approximately 3:45 p.m.

Both parents work from separate home offices, with Dad working full-time and Mom working part-time. The family values caregivers who are dependable, warm, flexible, and genuinely enjoy working with children. They are looking for someone who communicates openly, takes initiative naturally, and is passionate about creating a calm, engaging, and supportive environment for the children.

One of the children has a nut allergy, and Epipens are kept in the home, at school, and carried during outings. The family is seeking a caregiver who is comfortable managing food allergies responsibly and confidently.

About the Role

This position offers an excellent blend of childcare and household management responsibilities. During school hours, the nanny will help keep the household organized and prepare for the children’s return home before transitioning into after-school care that includes school pick-ups, supervising homework and creative activities, preparing healthy meals and snacks, facilitating enriching play, supporting evening routines, and engaging the children in age-appropriate play and learning experiences.

In addition to providing attentive, relationship-based childcare, the family is seeking someone who enjoys contributing to the overall functioning of the household. Responsibilities include kitchen tidying, children’s laundry, light home tidying and organization, meal preparation for the children, grocery shopping and meal planning, household errands, household inventory management, seasonal clothing organization for the children, taking out the garbage, light pet care (feeding and short walks for the family dog), and coordinating routine servicing for the family’s vehicles.

The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, organized, and naturally proactive. They are seeking someone who is a strong communicator, flexible, enjoys cooking and meal prepping, and is genuinely passionate about their work. The family would love to find someone who is interested in building a long-term relationship and becoming a trusted, consistent presence in their children’s lives.

Occasional domestic travel to Cape Cod would be strongly preferred, though it is not a hard requirement. Date night support would be appreciated when available but is not required.
