About the Family

A warm, loving, and highly involved family in Newton Corner is seeking a compassionate and proactive nanny/household manager to support their two wonderful sons while helping keep their household running smoothly. They are looking for someone who is nurturing, flexible, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys building meaningful, long-term relationships with children and their families.

Their oldest son is seven years old and has physical disabilities and is neurodivergent. He is incredibly social, loves interacting with people, and thrives with caregivers who are engaging, enthusiastic, and excited to help him explore the world around him. Although he is nonverbal, he is an excellent communicator through signs, gestures, facial expressions, and other forms of communication. He loves animals, enjoys outings in the community, and especially appreciates opportunities to get outside and explore using his walker or stroller. At home, he primarily crawls and is carried throughout the house, wears leg braces for mobility, and requires some assistance during mealtimes. He attends school each weekday with dismissal at 2:45 p.m. and participates in physical therapy twice per week and music therapy once per week.

His younger brother is four years old and is funny, outgoing, energetic, and incredibly affectionate. He loves climbing, chatting, and playing, and shares a particularly sweet bond with his older brother. He attends school with after-school care until 5:00 p.m.

Both parents work full-time from separate office spaces within the home. They deeply value open communication, teamwork, and caregivers who exercise sound judgment, take initiative naturally, and approach each day with warmth, patience, and flexibility. They are seeking someone who understands that every day may look a little different and who is excited to thoughtfully support their oldest son's individual needs while creating a positive, engaging environment for both children.

The family also has two friendly, medium-sized dogs who are affectionate members of the household.

About the Role

This position offers an excellent balance of childcare and household management responsibilities. During school hours, the nanny will focus on household tasks before transitioning into childcare responsibilities, including school pick-ups, transporting the older child to therapy appointments when scheduled, preparing healthy meals and snacks, facilitating engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, supporting evening routines, and encouraging community outings and enriching experiences.

The family is seeking a caregiver who enjoys contributing to the overall organization and efficiency of the home. Household responsibilities include kitchen tidying, children's laundry, light home tidying and organization, meal preparation for the children, grocery shopping and meal planning, household errands, scheduling appointments, accompanying the older child to appointments, household inventory management, seasonal clothing inventory, taking out the garbage, light pet care for the family's dogs, and coordinating routine servicing for the family's vehicles.

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, highly communicative, and naturally proactive. They should be comfortable supporting a child with differing physical and developmental needs while recognizing his strengths, independence, and desire to actively engage with the world around him. The family is looking for someone who is organized, dependable, flexible, and confident working collaboratively with parents while taking initiative independently. They would love to find someone who is interested in becoming a long-term, trusted member of their family's support system.

This role does not require weekend support, date nights, or travel.
