About the Family

A warm and busy family in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood is seeking an experienced, energetic, and collaborative nanny to support their three young children. The family deeply values strong communication skills and a positive attitude and is looking for a trusted partner to manage their children’s day to day. The family currently has two children, a 2.5-year-old girl, and a 16-month-old boy, with a new baby girl arriving in October. They are looking for a nanny who is flexible, organized, and comfortable caring for multiple young children while working closely with another full-time nanny.

Both parents work predominantly from an office but will occasionally work from home. The family also employs another full-time nanny, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable working as part of a team and communicating openly and collaboratively with another caregiver.

The family has one small, hypoallergenic dog who does not require any care. There are no dietary restrictions. No car is needed for this position, but there is parking available if needed.

The family appreciates a nanny who is open to traveling with them approximately 1–3 times per year, primarily for domestic travel, although this is not firmly required.

About the Role

This role will primarily focus on the family’s newborn daughter, providing attentive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate care throughout the day. The family’s current full-time nanny will primarily care for the 2.5-year-old daughter (who is in preschool) and 16-month-old son, allowing the new nanny to take the lead with the newborn while working collaboratively as part of the childcare team.

The family expects the newborn to ultimately follow a similar pattern to their previous two children with a strong structure to the day focused on a healthy sleep schedule, feeding schedule, and engaging play both indoors and outdoors as appropriate. They expect to start with 3-4 naps during the day, with growing wake windows for expanded activities. The nanny will be responsible for planning age-appropriate activities and outings, supporting developmental milestones, and focusing on daily routines. As the newborn grows, responsibilities will expand to helping prepare healthy meals and snacks and attending local classes with the baby. When the baby is napping, the nanny will complete child-related household tasks such as children’s laundry, bottle preparation and cleaning, and light tidying and organization.

The new nanny should be comfortable assisting with transitions and shared responsibilities as needed with the other two kids and should expect to be on point for multiple kids at one time throughout the week based on school, vacation, class, and sleep schedules.

The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, flexible, and collaborative, with strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative while working seamlessly alongside another nanny. As the family adjusts to life with three young children, the ability to adapt to changing needs and maintain a positive, team-oriented approach will be especially important.

Requirements:

  • Prior professional nanny experience

  • 4-year college degree preferred

  • Experience caring for infants, toddlers, and multiple young children

  • Strong understanding of child development and developmental milestones

  • Warm, nurturing, and engaging personality

  • Organized, flexible, and energetic

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Comfortable working alongside another full-time nanny

  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable

  • Comfortable supporting routines, transitions, and changing family needs

  • Excellent references from previous families

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Pets: One small dog; no care required

Transportation: No car required for the position, but parking is available.
