Benefits: 10 paid vacation days (5 days aligned with the family’s pre-arranged vacation time; 5 at the nanny’s discretion), 5 paid sick days, paid major federal holidays, and monthly healthcare stipend if needed
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend support for date nights is preferred but not required.

About the Family
A warm family in the Foxhall/Palisades area of NW Washington, D.C., is seeking a kind, trustworthy, and nurturing nanny to care for their sweet 8-month-old son. He is described as energetic, curious, and happy, and is currently crawling and beginning to stand with support. He is home full-time and enjoys exploring his surroundings and engaging with the people around him.
Mom and Dad both work hybrid schedules, splitting their time between working from home and working from their outside offices. The family is hoping to find a nanny who will become a trusted and long-term part of their household and provide a calm, nurturing, and engaging environment as their son continues to grow and reach new developmental milestones.
The family loves getting out into the community and would especially value a nanny who enjoys taking their son on daily walks and planning enriching outings. Local libraries, playgroups, and the family’s nearby country club, which is approximately 10 minutes away, are all wonderful resources for age-appropriate activities and socialization.
The family has two large, friendly dogs—a 6-year-old pit bull/Rottweiler mix and a 4-year-old collie. A dog walker is already in place, but the nanny should be comfortable around large dogs and willing to assist with letting them in and out and helping with their feeding as needed. The family does not have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
About the Role
This role is focused on the care, development, and day-to-day needs of the family’s 8-month-old son. The ideal nanny will enjoy being actively engaged with him throughout the day, creating opportunities for exploration, learning, movement, and age-appropriate developmental activities.
The family would love a nanny who prioritizes getting outside each day, whether through walks around the neighborhood or outings to local libraries, playgroups, and other child-friendly activities. Reading, play, and activities that support his growing curiosity and physical development will be an important part of his daily routine.
The baby is currently on a combination feeding schedule of formula and solid foods. The nanny should be comfortable confidently managing his feeding routine, including bottle preparation and sanitation, meal preparation, and supporting his transition through new foods and textures.
Household responsibilities will be focused on supporting the child and keeping the home running smoothly. Duties will include the child’s laundry, organizing and maintaining his belongings and spaces, bottle cleaning and sanitation, preparing meals for the child and potentially occasional meals for the parents, light household tidying, grocery shopping and other child-related errands, taking out the trash, and washing and changing bed linens. The nanny should also be comfortable assisting with light, basic pet care as needed.
Travel is not required for the role, but a nanny who is open to and interested in traveling with the family would be preferred.
The ideal candidate is warm, calm, nurturing, and brings a soft, reassuring presence into the home. They should be highly trustworthy and responsible, patient and adaptable, and genuinely enjoy caring for infants and toddlers. A nanny who is attentive to the child’s needs, comfortable taking initiative, and excited to become a meaningful long-term part of the family will be especially well suited to this role.
Requirements:
Prior professional nanny experience
Experience caring for infants and toddlers
Strong understanding of infant and toddler development
Experience supporting bottle feeding, solid food preparation, and infant feeding routines
Comfortable with bottle cleaning and sanitation
Warm, calm, nurturing, and patient personality
Trustworthy, responsible, and highly adaptable
Comfortable planning age-appropriate activities and outings
Enjoys taking children outdoors and engaging them in the local community
Comfortable around large dogs; willingness to assist with basic pet care as needed
Willingness to assist with child-related household responsibilities and light household tasks
Preferably able to use their own car for work-related driving
Excellent references from previous families
Valid drivers license
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Pets: Two large, friendly dogs—a 6-year-old pit bull/Rottweiler mix and a 4-year-old collie.
Transportation: Nanny preferably should have their own car for work-related use. Street and driveway parking are available.
Travel: Domestic and international travel may be available. Travel is not required but preferred.
