About the Role
The home is approximately 5,000 square feet, with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a 2,000-square-foot basement. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the home’s cleanliness and organization, maintaining a consistently high standard of care across all living spaces.
This role is well suited to someone who is thorough, takes initiative, and can work independently while remaining communicative and responsive to the family’s preferences. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with some flexibility for the right fit. Thirty hours per week are guaranteed, with the possibility of up to 35 hours depending on the household’s needs and the candidate’s ability to accommodate additional responsibilities.
Additional Responsibilities
Thoroughly clean all rooms and surfaces throughout the home, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and wiping down baseboards, windowsills, doors, and light fixtures.
Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, sinks, appliances, cabinets, and storage areas.
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, countertops, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, and tile.
Manage household laundry and linens, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, steaming, and properly storing clothing and household linens.
Change and make beds, ensuring bedrooms remain clean, tidy, and comfortable.
Maintain organized, clutter-free living spaces, closets, cabinets, and drawers.
Monitor household supplies and restock items as needed.
Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the home.
Complete deep-cleaning and seasonal cleaning projects as directed by the family.
Report household maintenance needs, safety concerns, or damage in a timely manner.
Prepare the home for guests by refreshing guest rooms, changing linens, and ensuring common areas are clean and presentable.
Requirements
Previous professional housekeeping experience, ideally in a private household.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
Reliable, proactive, and able to take initiative without needing constant direction.
Organized and capable of managing daily cleaning responsibilities efficiently.
Warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
