About the Family
A fun, warm, and very active family of four in Hingham is seeking a proactive and highly capable Family Assistant to support their home and the busy schedules of two competitive young athletes. Their daughters, ages 13 and 11, are serious ballerinas and cheerleaders with activities 5–6 days each week. They are happy, self-sufficient, easygoing kids who get along extremely well — they primarily need someone to help with transportation, meal prep, and general household flow.
The family values someone who can step in as a trusted partner in keeping the household organized and running smoothly. Dad travels Tuesday–Thursday and works from home when not traveling; Mom is in and out throughout the day. The family also has a friendly, low-maintenance mini goldendoodle who may need the occasional walk.
This role is ideal for someone energetic, positive, flexible, and deeply self-motivated — someone who takes initiative, sees what needs to be done, and feels like a natural extension of the family.
About the Role
This position blends family support and childcare, with a strong focus on transportation and after-school logistics. Core driving hours begin at 2:00 PM daily, but the role guarantees 40 hours/week with additional hours built around household support tasks, meal prep, errands, and organizational projects.
The Family Assistant will:
Transport the girls to and from daily dance, cheer, and after-school commitments
Manage meal prep, grocery shopping, and basic household organization
Assist with “second set of hands” tasks that make weekday schedules run smoothly
Identify needs and independently manage special projects, errands, and home tasks
Travel is not required for this role, though occasional overnights may be requested when parents travel.
A reliable personal vehicle is required for transportation to/from work and to drive the children.
