A warm, thoughtful family in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Mandarin-speaking professional nanny for their 4-year-old son. Mandarin immersion is a top priority for this role, and the family is looking for a nanny who can naturally and consistently support language development through daily conversation, play, and structured learning.

Their son is happy, curious, self-sufficient, and easygoing. He thrives with gentle structure and enjoys learning through hands-on activities, movement, and engagement. The family values education deeply and is seeking a nanny who can partner with them to reinforce classroom learning in a fun, age-appropriate way.

Schedule

Role & Responsibilities
This role is ideal for a nanny who is passionate about early childhood education and Mandarin language immersion. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing attentive, nurturing care and serving as the primary caregiver during scheduled hours

  • Speaking Mandarin with the child throughout the day to support fluency and comprehension

  • Reinforcing Mandarin immersion school learning through conversation, reading, songs, and play

  • School pickup (4-minute walk from home) and after-school care

  • Supporting lunch, reading time, and attempted rest/quiet time

  • Planning and facilitating structured, Montessori-style learning activities using provided lesson plans

  • Engaging the child in outdoor play, enrichment, and creative activities

  • Supporting extracurricular activities including Taekwondo and swimming (transport via public transit or Uber)

  • Child’s laundry and simple meal preparation

  • Maintaining a calm, organized environment with light child-related household duties

  • Traveling with the family approximately once per month, including one longer trip in June

Ideal Candidate
The ideal nanny is:

  • A native or fluent Mandarin speaker (required)

  • Warm, trustworthy, easygoing, and emotionally attuned

  • Genuinely enjoys engaging in play, conversation, and learning at a child’s level

  • Organized, proactive, and able to work independently

  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about early childhood development and education

  • Flexible and adaptable, especially with travel and changing schedules

  • Calm, patient, and confident supporting both structured learning and free play

Household Details

  • No pets

  • No car provided; comfort using public transportation and Uber required

  • Mom works from home and travels frequently; nanny will take the lead during scheduled care hours
