A warm and active family in Newton is seeking a patient, kind, and energetic full-time nanny to provide afternoon and evening care for their three children. The children are incredibly smart, outgoing, social, and love to play and engage in creative activities, particularly arts and crafts. All three are diagnosed with ADHD and autism, so the family is looking for someone with experience and compassion who can offer structure, flexibility, and affection while encouraging their strengths and interests.
Benefits:
2 weeks paid vacation (1 week chosen by nanny)
5 paid sick days
Major federal holidays off and paid
Annual discretionary bonus and raise
Long-term incentive bonus (minimum 2 years)
Mileage and gas reimbursement for use of personal car
Open to a healthcare stipend if needed
Live-Out: Live-out position
Household Dynamic:
The family’s oldest child attends boarding school, while the younger children attend school locally and will need after-school supervision, homework support, and activities. The family has three dogs (one Cavalier King Charles and two large Bernedoodles) and one Ragdoll cat, so the nanny must be comfortable with animals and willing to assist with pet care, including walks and occasional vet visits. This is a perfume-sensitive household—no perfume or strong-scented detergents. While there are no food allergies, the family avoids red dye. The family enjoys traveling and would love a nanny open to occasional domestic travel, with the possibility of international trips in the future.
Ideal Candidate:
The family is seeking a warm, engaging, and affectionate nanny who has experience working with children with ADHD and autism (ECE or ABA background strongly preferred). A candidate who is energetic, flexible, and patient will thrive in this role. Someone who enjoys arts and crafts, is comfortable with pets, and can balance childcare with household support will be highly valued. Strong communication skills and reliability are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
Afternoon and evening care and supervision for two children (ages 9 and 6; occasional care for 14-year-old when home from school)
School pick-ups, homework support, and engaging activities
Encouraging play, socialization, and arts and crafts
Meal prep for the children
Light home tidying and organizing
Running errands, taking out garbage
Walking dogs and occasional pet care (including vet visits)
Flexibility to travel with the family domestically (and potentially internationally in the future)
Qualifications:
Prior experience with children with ADHD and autism; ECE or ABA background preferred
Patient, kind, energetic, and affectionate personality
Strong communication skills and dependable nature
Enjoys arts and crafts and creative play
Animal lover, comfortable with dogs and cats
Owns a reliable car and comfortable driving (mileage reimbursed)
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Long-term interest in supporting a family in a full-time role
If you are a patient, flexible, and loving nanny who enjoys working with children with unique strengths while supporting a busy household, this could be a wonderful long-term opportunity for you!
