A private, kind, and family-oriented household in Bloomingdale, IL is seeking a full-time, long-term nanny to care for their two children, ages 4 and 8. The family values patience, warmth, and discretion, and is looking for someone who will become a trusted and stable presence in their children’s lives. Mom works from home 90% of the time, while Dad travels frequently for work, so the nanny should be comfortable in a team-oriented home with grandparents occasionally helping.
The family emphasizes a nurturing, structured environment with limited screen time, positive reinforcement, and plenty of outdoor play and activities. They eat vegetarian and prefer that no meat is brought into the home. Their daughter has a nut allergy, so the nanny must be attentive with food safety, comfortable reading labels, and trained in EpiPen use.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide loving, patient, and developmentally appropriate care for both children
Manage school schedule: oldest (8) takes the bus both ways; youngest (4) needs drop-off and pick-up
Drive children to activities and plan engaging, screen-free outings when possible
Support with homework, after-school routines, and positive reinforcement
Prepare healthy, vegetarian meals for the children and assist with family meal prep as needed
Children’s laundry, seasonal clothing inventory, and organizational support
Light household tidying, including unloading dishwasher and keeping kitchen and children’s spaces orderly
Run light errands and assist with household stocking as needed
Communicate openly and respectfully with parents, maintaining professionalism and discretion
Collaborate with grandparents when they assist during parents’ travel
Qualifications:
Recent childcare experience with preschool and school-age children
Warm, patient, flexible, and proactive personality
Respectful of family’s privacy and values; discrete with social media and phone use at work
Comfortable supporting children with allergies (nut allergy awareness and EpiPen training)
Valid driver’s license and car required for school runs and activities
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Long-term commitment preferred
If you are a warm, dependable, and proactive nanny looking for a long-term position with a kind and respectful family, we would love to hear from you.
