About the Family
A warm and loving family in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking an experienced nanny/house manager to support their two young children and help maintain a well-run household. Their 6.5-year-old daughter is sweet, fun-spirited, and hardworking. She has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair and an AAC device for communication. Their 3.5-year-old son is easygoing, affectionate, and enjoys independent play. Both children love getting out into the community and enjoy activities such as bike rides, music classes, library outings, and outdoor play. The children attend school Monday–Friday until 3:30pm and currently do not participate in after-school activities. Both parents work hybrid schedules between a home office and an outside office.
About the Role
This role is a thoughtful blend of afternoon childcare and household support. The ideal candidate is kind, patient, proactive, and fun-spirited—someone who can confidently support the children’s routines while also anticipating the needs of the household. Responsibilities include engaging the children in enriching and community-based activities, preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children, and fostering an environment centered around both physical and emotional safety. Household responsibilities include kitchen tidying, light home tidying and organization, children’s laundry, children’s meal preparation, household errands, pharmacy pick-ups, coordinating servicing for family vehicles, and communicating with household vendors.
The family is seeking a collaborative and growth-oriented professional who communicates well, takes initiative, and can work closely with their daughter’s care team as an extension of that support system. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who values teamwork, professionalism, and creating a warm, engaging environment for the children to thrive.
Requirements:
Experience caring for young children
4-year college degree
CPR certification
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Valid driver’s license
Excellent references from previous families
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Pets: None
Transportation: Family vehicle available for on-the-job driving; driveway parking available for nanny’s personal vehicle
Travel: Travel would be a nice bonus, but is not required
