About the Family

A warm and welcoming family in Chicago, Illinois is seeking an experienced nanny/house manager to support their two young girls and help maintain a well-run household. Their 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old daughter are both sweet, active, and love spending time outdoors. The girls enjoy soccer, outdoor play, and staying engaged in activities within their community. Both children attend school Monday–Friday until 3:00pm and participate in after-school activities. Mom is a stay-at-home parent and Dad works from an office. The family values kindness, teamwork, and creating a calm, supportive home environment. 

About the Role
This role is a thoughtful blend of afternoon childcare and household support. The ideal candidate is kind, grounded, proactive, and helpful—someone who can confidently support the children’s routines while also anticipating the needs of the household. Responsibilities include engaging the children in enriching activities, supporting after-school schedules and transportation, preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children, has loving but firm boundaries, and seamlessly contributing to the operations of the household. Household responsibilities include kitchen tidying, light home tidying and organization, children’s laundry, children’s meal preparation, meal planning, household errands, managing household inventory, coordinating contractors, seasonal clothing organization for the children, taking out the garbage, and assisting with anything that contributes to the smooth operation of the home.

The family is seeking a collaborative and professional caregiver who communicates well, takes initiative, and can serve as a dependable right-hand support to Mom. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who values teamwork, uses good discernment, and brings a calming, steady presence to the home while helping the household run smoothly.

Requirements:
Experience caring for young children
4-year college degree preferred
CPR certification
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Valid driver’s license
Excellent references from previous families
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.


Pets: None
Transportation: Family vehicle available for on-the-job driving; garage parking available for nanny’s personal vehicle
Travel: Domestic and international travel required; typically includes three trips per year
