About the Family

A warm, active, and fast-paced family in Great Falls, Virginia is seeking a highly proactive household manager/nanny to help support their four school-aged children and keep the household running smoothly. Their 15-year-old son is responsible, kind, independent, and fun-loving. Their 14-year-old son is smart, eccentric, and benefits from additional prompting and organizational support. Their 13-year-old daughter is sweet and social, while their 12-year-old daughter is hardworking, easygoing, and highly responsible. All four children are highly active in basketball, soccer, and extracurricular activities, and attend three different schools with schedules typically running from approximately 8:15am–3:30/4:00pm, followed by sports and activities most evenings.

Both parents work outside of the home, and Mom will be deployed for periods of time, making this role especially important in helping maintain consistency, organization, and structure within the household. The family currently employs an au pair who assists with morning childcare coverage and support, and grandparents occasionally assist with driving and logistics. The family values warmth, flexibility, collaboration, discretion, and a strong sense of initiative. They are seeking someone who enjoys the energy and “organized chaos” of a busy household and naturally jumps in wherever needed.

About the Role

This role is a thoughtful blend of household management, logistics coordination, and afternoon/evening support for four active children. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and capable of confidently managing responsibilities with minimal hand-holding. Responsibilities include helping coordinate the children’s schedules and activities, occasional driving support, communicating and collaborating with the au pair regarding logistics, meal planning and healthy meal preparation for the family, grocery shopping, household errands, household inventory management, kitchen tidying, children’s laundry, light household organization, coordinating contractors and vendors, helping manage servicing and maintenance for family vehicles, responding to activity-related emails, and generally ensuring the household runs efficiently day to day.
