About the Family
A warm and welcoming first-time family in Stevenson, Maryland is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and proactive nanny to provide loving care for their newborn beginning this September. Their baby will be just a few months old at the start of the position, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced infant nanny who enjoys supporting families during the earliest stages of childhood.
Both parents work from separate home offices and value open communication, professionalism, and a collaborative partnership with their nanny. They are hoping to find someone who is trustworthy, adaptable, and naturally takes initiative while becoming a valued member of their family's team. The household has no pets, dietary restrictions, or food allergies, creating a straightforward and welcoming work environment.
The family values flexibility, as there may be occasional adjustments to the schedule, such as weekend support with advance notice or accompanying the family on vacation. When the nanny does not travel with the family, there will be opportunities to focus on family assistant responsibilities and household projects while continuing to receive guaranteed hours.
About the Role
This position is centered around providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care for a newborn while helping the household run smoothly. Childcare responsibilities include establishing nurturing daily routines, bottle cleaning and sanitation, meal preparation for the child as they grow, children's laundry, seasonal clothing organization, and supporting the child's developmental milestones through loving, attentive care.
In addition to childcare, the family is looking for someone who enjoys contributing to the overall organization of the household. Responsibilities include light home tidying and organization, kitchen tidying, household inventory management, grocery shopping and meal planning, taking out the garbage, and running occasional household errands. The nanny will have access to a family vehicle for any on-the-job driving needs.
The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, flexible, reliable, and proactive. They are seeking someone who communicates well, takes initiative without needing constant direction, and enjoys building a long-term relationship with a family. A calm, easygoing personality and a genuine passion for infant care will be key to success in this role.
