About the Family

A warm, welcoming, and active family in Chicago is seeking an organized, proactive, and nurturing nanny/family assistant to support their three school-aged children and help keep their busy household running smoothly. Their oldest daughter is active in sports, incredibly kind, empathetic, and nurturing. She is highly motivated and is naturally responsible. Their middle daughter shares her older sister's love of sports, is bright and funny, enjoys spending time at the library, and has a wonderfully close relationship with her siblings. Their youngest son is sweet, deeply empathetic, and thrives with positive reinforcement. He loves sports, building with Legos, and enjoys independent play while benefiting from caregivers who provide calm, consistent guidance.

The children attend school full-time at two local schools and participate in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities throughout the week. The family values caregivers who build trusting relationships, communicate with empathy, can remain self-regulated themselves, and provide thoughtful, consistent support.

Both parents maintain hybrid work schedules between their home offices and outside offices, with Mom typically working from home on Mondays and Fridays. They are looking for someone who enjoys becoming a true partner to the family—someone who communicates well, takes initiative, and is invested in building a long-term relationship.

About the Role

This role offers a wonderful balance of childcare and family assistant responsibilities. During school hours, the nanny will help manage household tasks and prepare for the children's return home before transitioning into after-school care that includes school pick-ups, homework support, transportation to activities, meal preparation, and maintaining consistent routines throughout the afternoon and evening.

In addition to providing attentive, relationship-based childcare, the family is seeking someone who enjoys helping a busy household stay organized. Responsibilities include kitchen tidying, children's laundry, light home tidying and organization, meal preparation for the children, grocery shopping and meal planning, household errands, household inventory management, seasonal clothing organization, coordinating contractors, taking out the garbage, and maintaining organization throughout the home's shared spaces, including the mudroom, sports equipment, artwork storage, and children's belongings.

The ideal candidate is warm, intelligent, highly organized, and naturally proactive. They are seeking someone who communicates openly, takes initiative without needing direction, and approaches each day with a collaborative mindset. The family would love to find someone who values connection, provides positive and consistent guidance, and enjoys becoming a trusted, long-term member of their household.
